Chobee Slay of Spanish Fort was born on February 14, 1926 at Fort Pierce, FL, and passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Slay Street. He is survived by his wife of 56 years; son; grandsons; son-in-law; sisters-in-laws; nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Chobee graduated from Murphy High School and joined the United States Navy in 1944. He was employed for 41 years with First National Bank of Mobile (AmSouth) and retired as Senior Vice President. He loved Alabama football and enjoyed bird hunting, deep-sea fishing, crabbing and playing golf. Chobee was a member of Fairhope Christian Church. He was a kind man with a great sense of humor who cherished his wife and children. Chobee's family has been touched by the care and devotion of the staff at Infirmary Hospice Care, especially Artazio Cox and Debra Whittle. Memorial Service will be held on Friday (TODAY) March 2, 2012 at 2:00PM with the family receiving friends one hour prior to service at Fairhope Christian Church, 349 Fairwood Blvd., Fairhope. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairhope Christian Church. Arrangements by Pine Crest Funeral Home & Cemeteries, Mobile, Alabama.
