Susanna Varga was born in 1893 in Hatalov, Michalovce, Košice, Slovakia, to parents András Varga and Anna Krisko. In 1910, at the age of 17, Susanna embarked on a journey, departing from Fiume, Hungary, and arriving in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on January 2, 1910.
On June 22, 1913, Susanna married John Joseph "Pocky" Bichrest Sr in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Connecticut. Together, they had several children, including Mary, Anna Cecile, Mary Susanna, John Joseph Jr, and Frances Xavier Bichrest. Sadly, their daughter Mary passed away in 1916, shortly after birth.
The family settled in Bayonne, Hudson, New Jersey, where they resided for many years. Tragically, Susanna passed away on April 29, 1931, in Bayonne, Hudson, New Jersey, at the age of 38. She was laid to rest in Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, New Jersey.
