Doris "Dot" Comalander Alewine, 78, of Pomaria, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on July 8, 1932, in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late John Shell and Lillian Shealy Comalander. Mrs. Alewine was retired from the S.C. Pardon and Parole Board. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Cooper-Fuller Circle, the Happy Mountaineers, the Fellowship Hall Sunday School Class, former church statistical secretary and Sunday School teacher
Surviving is her husband, Cecil J. Alewine; a brother, Owens Comalander of Chapin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Alewine was predeceased by a sister, Margie C. Mishaw and brothers, John Comalander, Jr., Ellis Comalander and Cecil Comalander.
Christian services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2010, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Fred Suhr. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers: Greg Comalander, Troy Comalander, Lamar Comalander, Michael Comalander, Kenny Comalander, Clarence Comalander and Rhett Mishaw.
