She was a lifelong town resident and a former children's librarian for Hatton School and the Southington Public Library. Mrs. Badgley volunteered for a number of charitable organizations, including Bradley Memorial Hospital and UNICEF. She was an active member of the Southington Baptist Church and the former Plantsville Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She leaves her husband, Milton Badgley; two sons, David Carle of Merrimack, N.H., and Richard Carle of Lebanon, Maine; and a daughter, Deborah Lansberry of Hamden.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 581 Meriden Ave., Southington. There are no calling hours. The Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
