Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel P. Brewer wer held at the home southwest of Mt. Sterling Friday afternoon, with the Rev. David Eastburn of Cantril in charge. The pallbearers were Leonard Davis, Phil Morris, Clark Phillips, Ralph Mitchell, Clyde Kerr and Wes Kerr. Burial was at the Harness Cemetery.

Surviving are her husband; two children, John Brewer, Jr., and Mae Brewer, at home; two step-children, Mrs. Nora Zollars of Mt. Sterling and Walter Brewer of Donnellson; one grandson, Wayne Zollars; her father T.J. Polilng of Douds; one sister, Mrs. Belle Plowman of Douds; one brother, Will Polilng of Keosauqua, and two nieces and three nephews.
