Dr. Ahlersmeyer graduated from Ft. Wayne Central High School, Purdue University and Chicago College of Chiropoday and Foot Surgery. He was a Podiatrist in Lafayette from 1953 until retiring in 1994. Frederick was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and VFW. He served many years on YMCA Board of Directors and with Boy Scouts of America.
Frederick is survived by three sons, Fritz E. Ahlersmeyer, Stephen E. Ahlersmeyer (Amber) and Bradley K. Ahlersmeyer (Natalie); sister, June (Bill) Amspaugh; sister-in-law, Lee Ahlersmeyer; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth, sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Ralph Waterhouse.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to a 2 PM service Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel; burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
