He was born January 10, 1953 in Campbell County, a son of the late Charlie Dan Arnold and Jessie Robertson Arnold. Jerry was a former employee of Trans World Connections, LTD, an avid sports fan, especially enjoyed following the Dallas Cowboys and Jeff Gordon and proudly served his country as a U. S. Army veteran. He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Arnold Hall and a granddaughter, Makenzie Hall, both of Altavista; two brothers, Jack Arnold of Pleasanton, Texas and Dan Arnold of San Antonio, Texas; four sisters, Shirley Layne of Lynchburg, Ruby Layne of Hurt, Eva Waters of Hickory, North Carolina and Sue Irby of Hurt; his former wife, Song Ye Arnold and her husband Mark Hodnett of Altavista and his special caregiver, Patricia Duty of Midlothian. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Frank Arnold. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista by the Rev. Jason Andrews, interment will follow in Altavista Memorial Park with military honors by the American Legion Altavista Memorial Post 36. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the residence of Song Arnold and Mark Hodnett, 1316 5th Street, Altavista.
