He and his family were listed as follows: William H, age 56, farmer, born in North Caroline with both parents born in Virginia; Julia, age 52, wife, born in Indiana with both parents born in Tennessee; Jennie, age 16, daughter; Benjamin, age 13, son; and Robert, age 11, son.
His obituary from the March 13, 1899 Indianapolis News:
Clayton, Indiana, March 13 — William H. Ader is dead of apoplexy. He was in his usual health until yesterday when the fatal stroke came. His death followed in a few hours. Mr. Ader was one of the best-known farmers and stock-raisers in Hendricks county, where he spent the major part of his life. His wife died the 3d of January last. He was born in 1826 in North Carolina, and was brought to Indiana when but one year old. He lived in Putnam county until 1872, save a short time in Iowa, and then he settled in Hendricks. He was an uncle of Frank Ader of Greencastle, a member of the Baptist church, and a life-long Democrat.
