SOUTHINGTON - Karen (McCarthy) Adam, 48, of Berlin Street, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Hartford Hospital. Karen was the beloved wife of Frederick Adam and mother of Alan Adam. Born in Albany, N.Y., Feb. 24, 1959, she was the daughter of Margaret McCarthy and her husband, Robert G. McCarthy, of Watervliet, N.Y., and Arlene McCarthy of Berlin. Karen had served in the U.S. Army. She was employed by the state of Connecticut with the Department of Transportation and was a parishioner of St. Dominic Church. Besides her husband, mom, dad and son, she is survived by a sister, Terri L. (McCarthy) White of New Britain; mother-in-law Esther Pierce and her husband, Wayne; and a sister-in-law, Julie (Pierce) Leeson, all of Ocala, Fla.; a nephew, Chris-topher White; a niece, Melissa White; a great-nephew, Darrien Pavdi; stepsisters Jennifer and Mamie Meckee of New York; along with several aunts and cousins. She is also survived by family's pet pug "Peanut." The funeral will be held Thursday, July 26, 2007, at 9:15 a.m. from DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Road, Southington, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors.
