LaVera Bender
LaVera Bender, 89, of Lodi, died Dec. 10 in a local convalescent hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born LaVera Moser on Feb. 10, 1915, in Sutton, Neb.

Mrs. Bender moved to Lodi in 1936, and married Howard Bender in 1947. She worked at several businesses in Lodi until her retirement in 1959. She was a member of Zion Reformed Church where she sang in the choir for many years.

She is survived by her sisters, Gloria Moser, of San Francisco, and Vernita Bender, of Lodi; brothers, Ruben Moser and Ervin Moser, both of Lodi; Gilbert Moser, of Napa, Ray Moser, of Alameda, Larry Moser, of Seattle, and Maynard Moser, of Santa Barbara.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at Zion Reformed Church with Pastor Matt Duerr officiating. Committal will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Reformed Church, 105 S. Ham Lane, Lodi, CA 95242.
