Mr. Robert Mashburn Padgett, aged 56 of a Martin Street address, passed away Wednesday morning, January 13, 1993 in an Augusta, Georgia hospital.

Born February 21, 1936 in Chattooga County, he was the eldest child of the late Robert Mack and Lena Cochran Padgett. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed in construction. He was of the Holiness faith.

Survivors include daughter, Linda Hooper of Birmingham, Alabama; sons Sammy, Jimmy and David, all of Summerville; Kenneth of Atlanta, and Georgia, of Calhoun. He is also survive by three sisters and five brothers: Elizabeth Taylor, Shirley Bishop, Barbara Davis, Charles and J. T. Padgett all of Summerville; Frank, Daytona Beach, Florida, Andrew of Dalton, and Gene of Rome. He is also survived by four granddaughters, two grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 15 from the Hill Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Hampton, Rev. Bobby Tinney, and Rev. Willie Beardon officiating. Interment was in Summerville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Donald Bishop, Paul Edgeworth, Lilburn Bramlett, Harold Pickle, Terry Smith, and J. B. Gentry. Honrary pallbearers were Wilburn Ragland, Ed Bush, Don Hayes, John Paul Jones, John Abbott, Stanley Pierce, Nickie Carter, Tom Miller, Larry Bishop and Donnie Bishop.
