Victoria E. ``Torie'' Snelgrove died from injuries sustained while attending a Red Sox gathering near Fenway Park. She was only 21.
Raised in East Bridgewater, she attended East
Bridgewater High School and was a member of the field
hockey, track and tennis teams, the drama class and
the Key Club. After graduating in 2001, she attended
Fitchburg State College, where she studied journalism
and completed an internship at Disney World in
Florida. She later transferred to Emerson College to
continue her studies.
She had been selected by Emerson College to
complete her studies and internship in fall 2005 at
the school's Los Angeles campus.
Victoria collected music and enjoyed photography and creating scrapbooks. She was also an avid horseback rider and enjoyed playing the piano.
She is survived by her parents, Richard F. and
Dianne M. (Tanasso); a brother, Michael of East
Bridgewater; two nieces, Ariana and Syann, both of
East Bridgewater; a grandfather; and several aunts,
uncles and cousins.
Victoria loved the Red Sox and was peacefully standing on the streets near Fenway Park, after the Red Sox won the American League pennant, when she was hit in the eye with a "pepper ball" shot by a Boston Police Officer. Let this innocent victim show us all that celebrating should be just that.. a celebration, not riotous acts that result in tradgedies like this.
