For some reason, it's not letting me put in the correct birth location. Knut was born in Gurskøy, Sande Prestegjeld in Møre og Romsdal. About 1855, family moved to Aalesund and then came to America abt. 1870. When Knut first came to America, he and his family went by the last name of HOLTE. There have been many variations in spelling with his first/last name, but it appears that he eventually settled on using Knut Olai Anderson by early 1900's.
