John Antonis Bloom (in dutch: Jan Anthonie Bloem) married Ellen Petronella Aalbers on December 29, 1849 in Valburg Holland. They then had one daughter in 1850 and came to the USA the same year. They settled on a farm near the forks of Weldon and Little Rivers. He got naturalized April 15, 1856. He also served in the Civil War.
Jan's parents were Gerrit Bloem (father), and Gerritje Bloem (born Van Wijk) (mother).
His siblings and their spouses are:
1: Willem Gerrit Bloem b: 1814 Married July 9 1863 in Zoelen Holland to Gerdina Willemina van Gameren, b:1822, daughter of Gerrit van Gameren and Jennike Valkis.
2: Gerardus Arnoldus Bloem b: Sept. 16 1817. He married May 16 1851 in Druten to Aaltje Liesen b: Nov. 4 1817 in Puiflijk, daughter of Coenraad Liesen and Geertruida Rademakers.
3: Maria Wilhelmina Bloem b: Jan. 11 1820 in Weurt. She married April 30 1847 in Ewiik Holland to Otto Liesen b: Aug. 9 1809 in Druten Holland, the son of Coenraad Liesen and Geertruida Rademakers.
4: Derk Sander Bloem b: Nov. 11 1821 in Weurt Holland, death is Jan. 22 1870 in Beuningen Holland. He married April 4 1858 in IJzendoorn to Pellina Peternella de Haas, born 1829 in IJzendoorn, the daughter of Harbert de Haas and Jantje Petronella Tap. He married after her death, Sept. 19 1867 in Ewijk to Wilhelmina Gerritje Liese, b: May 19 1840 in Bergharen Holland daughter of Hendrik Liese and Johanna Donkersloot.
5: Anna Wilhelmina Bloem b; Nov. 2 1825 in Winssen Holland. She married May 18 1855 in Ewijk to Jan Willem Gramser b: Nov. 29 1818 in Leur Holland, the son of Geurt Gramser and Sandrina van Wijck. She married also: July 4 1860 in Valburg to Cornelis Budding b: July 4 1813 in Herveld, son of Jan Budding and Barta Taats.
6: Petrus Joannes Bloem 1829 in Winssen. He married May 8 1868 in Beuningen to Antje Jansen b:1841 in Slijk-Ewijk, daughter of Jan Jansen and Judith van Wijk.
7: Gerardina Margaretha Agatha Bloem, birth 12-02-1832 in Winssen, death 23 feb 1907 in Beuningen. She married 09 may 1856 in Ewijk to Hendrik Cornelis de Leeuw, birth 10 apr 1821 in Andelst, son of Jan de Leeuw and Everdina van Doorn.
She married a second time 11 jun 1873 in Maurik to Johannes Wilhelmus Speijers, born 1831 in Slijk-Ewijk, death 05 feb 1908 in Beuningen, son of Hendrik Speijers and Judith van Wijk (the same as the mother-in-law of Petrus Joannes ????)
8: Susanna Petronella Bloem, birth 24 march 1834 in Winssen, death nfy, She married 09-sep 1857 in Ewijk to Arnold Zeger van Zadelhoff, dorn 08 may 1824 in Wageningen, son of Cornelis Jacob Pieter van Zadelhoff and Alida Wilhelmina Ockerse. (Arnold was widower of Hendrika Arnolda de Hartog).
She married again 02 march 1876 in Wageningen to Jan Hendrik Reinier Kreunen, born 1838 in Doetinchem, son of Willem Kreunen and Maria Hendrika Ankersmit.
