MILTON/ST. PETERSBURG, FL - James "Red" Ahrens, age 85, died Tues., Aug. 17, 1993, in St. Petersburg. He was born May 14, 1908, in Melville, ND, the son of August and Rose (Marlow) Ahrens. He married Violet Klemstine Jan. 22, 1929. The last 22 years they spent in Florida. Before that they lived in Milton. He was in the paint department at GMAD. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton, UAW Local #95 Retirees, was the founder and also on the board of directors of the Southern Wisconsin Coon Hunters Association.

Survivors include his wife; 3 sons: Jerry (Terry) of Janesville, Elmer (Carol) of Milton, and Jon (Margaret) of Edgerton; a daughter, Sharon (Jack) Kumlien of Edgerton; a brother, Joseph of Tarpon Spring, FL, 3 sisters: Mary Drew of Largo, FL, Barbara Bieberle of St. Petersburg, FL, and Rose Slater of Edgerton; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Fred and William.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Fri., Aug. 20, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
