In 1967, the Alvarez family moved to the Yakia Valley where Ramon was employed as a maintenance person for the Mabton School District. He retired in 1984. His wife, Eulogia died in August of 1988. Following her death, Ramon continued to make his home in Mabton.
Mr. Alvarez is survived by his two children, Catalina A. Luna and Celedonio Alvarez; three grandchildren; three brothers, Lois Alvarez, Candelario Alvarez, and Andres Gonzalez; six sisters, Celedonia Robles, Paula Guerra, Petra Cardenas, Siria Limon, Gerarda Gatica, and Roza Gomez. He was preceded in death by two sisters, agdalena and Demetria Alvarez.
