OTTAWA – Dorothy Lucille Albin, 91, of Ottawa, was called home by her dear Lord, February 17, 2014. She put up a good battle but is now at rest.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 21, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Pastor Sherry Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Greg and Kim Hartshorn, Jeff and Tom Sampson, Paul Vandom and Carla Clapp. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Gunderson, Bob Fancher, Zach Hartshorn, Josh Marco, and Michelle Vandom.

Dorothy was born February 23, 1922, the daughter of John and Marie Anweiler, the fourth child of ten children. She was born and lived her whole life in Ottawa. She married Stanford "Stan" Albin July 8, 1945 at the Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. She is survived by her brothers, Bobby (Grace) Anweiler of Louisiana, Elmer (Marguerite) Anweiler of New Orleans, and Harvey (Toni) Anweiler of New Jersey; her sisters, Betty Fancher of Ottawa, Helen Sampson of Ottawa, and Esther Gunderson of South Carolina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stan, on February 3, 2009; her parents; brothers, Joe and Clarence Anweiler; sister, Shirley Hartshorn; her brothers in-law, Bob Fancher, Kenny Sampson, Si Gunderson, and Dale Hartshorn; and a sister in-law, Irene Anweiler.

Dorothy and Stan traveled from one end of the country to the other, seeing almost all of the fifty states. She and Stan enjoyed everything together. She was a beautiful seamstress and loved doing crafts and crochet. In her leisure, she loved spending time in the kitchen as she was an excellent cook. Dorothy also enjoyed her time spent in the beauty of her flower gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a charity to be designated at a later date.
