Ray graduated from Colorado State with a degree in forestry. He worked for his dad, "Doc" was made Assistant Supervisor of the Crook National Forest (Now part of the Coronado), in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Most of the roads and picnic tables and bridges on Mt. Graham were built during this time. If anyone got lost on the mountain and Doc was busy, someone always came for Ray and his brother, Jess, because they knew every rock and tree, trail and creek. Ray was a Lieutenant in the Air Force during WW II. Ray was a great pool player. He died from brain cancer.
