DAVENPORT - James M. Chism, 71, of Davenport, FL passed away on October 4, 2010 of respiratory failure.

He was born December 26, 1938 in Memphis, TN and moved to Haines City in 1956 moving from Arkansas. James served in the United States Marine Corps. being discharged in 1963. He worked for Anning & Johnson in Orlando as a light weight concrete foreman retiring in 1998. James enjoyed activities with his family, especially playing cards, family was very important to him.

James is survived by a son, Michael Chism of Winter Haven, FL; daughters, Mary Chism Vickers of Davenport, Wanda Chism Fenley of Winter Haven; brother, Billy Chism of Lake City, FL; sisters, Ethel Ford of Polk City, FL, Shirley Qualls of Winter Haven; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 pm and the funeral will be Saturday at 11 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City with interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
