William's body was shipped by train to Larned, Kansas from Alvin, Texas on Mar. 21, 1924 to be buried next to his wife (Lorretta, who had turned ill and passed away, while visiting one of daughter's on Dec. 2, 1908, in Larned, Kansas).

This might be interesting to note, my great -grandather Mr. William Kilgore, actually bought 8-burial plots (according to Larned Cemetery) for his family (before selling his 360 of land and moving to Alvin, Texas, with with his wife Lorretta, in 1902).
Only William, his wife 'Lorretta and their son 'Garfield' (though Garfield, is NOT Inscribed, anywhere), are buried at this one beautiful marble Headstone.

And we might ask, what happened to the other 7-burial plots, after all these years?

To my knowledge, all 7-burial plots were taken back (after some 100 years+ had passed), sometime in 2014, by Larned Cemetery. It only makes sense.
