Berta Nora (Bertie) Burdick was born about May 1874, it is believed, in Alabama, USA.

She met and married William (Bill) Brummett and they had the following children this researcher has found, to-date:

Dau - Leona Brummett (Sep 1892 - ?)

Dau - Jane Olga (Janie) Brummett (Mar 1895 - ?)
m. ? Robinson

Son - Thomas Brumett (Oct 8 1897 - Mar 9 1982)
m. Vadah Brown Brumett

Son - Henry Brummett (Mar 1900 - ?)

Both Bill and Bertie must have passed away sometime between 1900 and 1910, as Leona, Janie, and Henry are found in the 1910 US Census in the Methodist Orphanage (Waco, McClennan, Texas, USA) and Thomas, my Grandfather, is listed as "Adopted Son" to Pinkney (Pink) & Mariah Drucilla Kirby Posey.

I knew no members of the Brummett family (my Grandfather spelled the name Brumett and relayed that his Grandfather thought the name 'too long' and went to court to have one of the "m"s removed...like that made it any shorter???) while I was growing up and still have not met any of my Grandfather's family, to this day.

Rest In Peace, Bertie - My Great Grandmother.
