Mike Charnecki of Fairmont Dies at 44. Mike Charnecki, 44, of 120 W. Anna Street, lifelong resident of Martin County, died Monday night at his home from a heart attack he suffered after retiring. He had submitted to open heart surgery three years ago.
He was born August 5, 1919, in Silver Lake Township, one of 14 children of Mr. and Mrs. Ignatius Charnecki. He attended school District 92 and on September 27, 1946 was married at East Chain to Marie Korolewski.
He was employed by Fairmont Cast Stone Company for 14 years until forced to retire three years ago.
Six brothers and seven sisters are Frank, Anton and Paul of Fairmont; John and Leo of Chicago; Joseph of Blue Earth; Elizabeth Charnecki, Mrs. John Nowicki and Mrs. Vincent Blackowski of Fairmont; Mrs. Ed Kennedy of Bancroft, Iowa; Mrs. Sidney Swanson of Minneapolis; Mrs. Edward Stefanski and Mrs. Harold Roe of Chicago.
Services will be 9:30 A. M. Thursday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont with father Hilary McNailan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery at East Chain.
