Son of Virginia Hammett, Step son of Mr Hammett.. died of MS... my father,Doyle McFerrin, was one of the pallbearers.. they took 12 of the boys in the community to go dig his grave early the day after Christmas. Dad said it was so cold they had to use a pick to break up the dirt.. .and when they got it deep enough, they didn't want to get out of the hole and face the bitter wind again.. Dad was 12 at the time.. 12 pallbearers to dig his grave ... rest in peace Ed Wesley Gee...∼Ed was born July 9, 1941 to Louis Gee and Virginia Margaret Barrett as per his birth certificate. His death certificate confirms this information. He died in Lamb County on December 25, 1954. He was a victim of Muscular Dystrophy. His mother, Virginia, was married second to Mr. Hammett.
