Nekeshia graduated from Hazel Green High School in May 2008. She was involved with Bethlehem Baptist Church and loved children. "I can't tell you the number of people who came up and told me how great she was with their kids," Bousson said. She really wanted to go into cosmetology, her mother said, and she always wanted to help people. Even in her death, that's exactly what she did. Monday afternoon, Helton's organs were harvested to hopefully help other people. She played many roles in her 18 years, including daughter, best friend and big sister. She was the oldest of six siblings, and she was able to reconnect and build a relationship with her father during the last couple of years.
