Gordon L. Alward, 71, formerly of Kingman, died Saturday night in the Veterans Hospital in Danville, Ill.
Mr. Alward was a retired farmer. He served in the Coast Guard and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Phanuel Lutheran Church near Wallace.
He was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Jackson Township of Fountain County to Arista and Sadie Duchene Alward. He was never married.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Richard (Marie) Nickell of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Lowell of Crawfordsville and Connie of Monrovia, Ind., and nieces and nephews.
The parents are deceased.
Services are scheduled for 11 am Tuesday in Woodrow Funeral home at Kingman with the Rev. Karl Korbel officiating. Burial will be in Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm today.
