Hazel Mae Daman Allio, 87, of 175 Merrill St., Franklin, joined our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011. She had been a resident of the Presbyterian Home in Oil City for the last seven months. Hazel was born May 19, 1924, in Oil City, a daughter of the late Walter L. Daman Sr. and Florence Gaynor Daman.

She attended Oil City High school and graduated in 1943. Hazel was employed for many years at Sears & Roebuck catalog department., Milady's Shop and Brody's. She spent many years as Girl Scout leader. Hazel was a gifted artist specializing in oils and pastels. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, swimming and especially being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hazel was married Feb. 18, 1946, in St. Joseph Church by the Rev. Patrick Lynch to Charles Joseph Allio. They recently celebrated 65 loving years of marriage.

Hazel is survived by her husband; a brother, Walter Daman Jr. of Oil City and five children: a daughter, Pamela Steinbuch and her husband, Craig, of San Jacinto, Calif., a daughter, Deborah Perrine and her husband, Thomas, of Corinth, Texas, a son, Jeffrey and his wife, Kathleen, of Cochranton, a daughter, Mary Beth Dunn and her husband, Steven, of Oil City, and a daughter, Ellen Tokely and her husband, Andrew, of Burgaw, N. C. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Robert Daman; and two sisters, Delores Marie Daman and Janine Louise Daman.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Morrison Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Stephen Church with the Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Oil City Presbyterian Home or the Venango VNA Foundation.
