Clifford D. Adams, 71 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, April 5th, 2010 at his residence.

He was born on January 13th, 1939 in Squib, Kentucky, the son of the late Gene Othel Adams and Mossie Dugger Adams.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Ikerd & Bandy Coal Co. and a member of the Chimney Rock Baptist Church. He enjoyed life, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was survived by three daughters, Gaylene (and Scott) Abrams of Somerset, Kentucky, Patsy (and Bo) Hicks of Louisville, Kentucky, and Laura Adams of Somerset, Kentucky; two brothers, Lando (and Shirley) Adams of Somerset, Kentucky and Jimmy (and Diane) Adams of Greenwood, Indiana; a sister, Betty (and Lawrence) Mize of Clayton, Indiana; two grandchildren, Aaron (and Tabitha) Smith of Somerset, Kentucky and Holly Smith of Louisville, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Mossie Adams; his wife, Virginia Marie "Ginny" Hudson Adams, who died on January 19th, 2008; two brothers, Wathe Adams and Onie Pete Adams; four sisters, Louise Adams, Geneva Woodrum, Elma Hibbard, and Juanita Dykes.

Visitations were held after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 in the Chapel of the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky.

Graveside services were held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 at the Whitaker Cemetery with Bro. Don Arthur officiating.

Burial followed in the Whitaker Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.


I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
of happy memories
that I leave when my life is done.
