She was the daughter of Elisha and Mary Jane Strickland Plumley. She was a member of Big Laurel Methodist Church, where she taught a Sunday School class. Her husband, Squire Adkins, preceded her in death in 1939, as well as 4 sons: Arthur, Millard, Albert & Elmer Adkins. She is survived by two sons, Alpha and Bernard, both of East Liverpool, Ohio; five daughters, Maudie Adkins of Sias, WV, Reathel Adkins of West Hamlin, WV, and Daisy Snodgrass, Elizabeth Papuzek and Virginia Adkins, all of East Liverpool; 31 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren, and 51 great great grandchildren.
