Cheryl and Tim Baumgartner, of Wellington, died, Saturday, December 3, 2016. They were both 60 years old.

Timothy was born the son of Charles Alfred and Gladys Fern (Anthony) Baumgartner on Friday, May 18, 1956 in Wellington. Cheryl was born the daughter of Arthur and Marlene (Knox) Dunn on Tuesday, August 14, 1956 in Wellington. Cheryl and Tim met in middle school after the Riverdale School Tim attended closed.

It was love at first sight for Tim and Cheryl eventually agreed and the two became high school sweethearts. On February 9, 1974, Cheryl and Tim were united in marriage in Belle Plaine, and started their family soon after. Together they celebrated 42 years of marriage.

Tim has been in the aircraft industry for many years and spent the last ten as a machinist for Spirit Aerosystems. Cheryl has been the store manager at Smokers Choice for many years. They were loving parents, grandparents, siblings and friends. They will be missed by many.

Survivors include their daughter, Danielle Hall (Jay); son, Nick Baumgartner (Megan); son, Nate Baumgartner (Chaylin); daughter, Hayley Baumgartner; grandchildren: Levi Schuster, Audrey Schuster, Aiden Taylor, Kyleigh Baumgartner; step-grandchildren: Josey, Abi, Natalie and Sydney Hall plus one baby Baumgartner on the way. Cheryl is also survived by her brother Duane Dunn (Cindy) and Tim is survived by his brother, Arlen Baumgartner (Pat).

Both Cheryl and Tim’s parents preceded them in death.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2016 with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A combined funeral service will be held for Cheryl and Tim at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Wellington Baptist Temple. Pastor Dane Massey will officiate.

A memorial has been established in their loving memory to the Union Rescue Mission. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
