COOK. Stella K. Stella (Kalafut) Cook, 79, of Newington, formerly of Simsbury and Windsor Locks, widow of Alan S. Cook, died Tuesday, (April 13, 1999) . in West Simsbury. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline (Oleasz) Kalafut, she had lived in Windsor Locks and Simsbury before moving to Newington three months ago. She leaves a sister, Leokadia Moriarty and a brother, John Kalafut, both of Newington, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a very dear friend, Helen Lasko of Wethersfield. She was predeceased by three brothers, Andrew, Michael and Frank Kalafut; and three sisters, Mary Hesky, Anna Choinski and Frances Marra. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April -15, 11 a.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, with the Rev. Francis McDonnell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Her family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the McLean Home Hospice Program, 75 Great Pond Rd., Simsbury, 06070.
