Walter was named after Walt Disney because he was found on Walt Disney property.

A mother cat kept having her kittens in a shed in the middle of a sand field. When the kittens were old enough they would fall to the ground and then be eaten by the rattle and black snakes.

I was walking and thought I heard a baby crying and went in to the open field to find Walter in a tumble weed. Stuck in the thorns.

I looked up and saw several kittens on the roof of the shed. People started to scream at me "your in a Rattle Snake pit, get out." I looked down and saw the slithering tracks in the sand that snakes make.

I grabbed the little kitten and ran out of the field. I could not put him back to die. There was no way to save the other kittens but I had this little guy. He was so little and adventitious. 1,700 miles from home and now I had a kitten.

The rest is history. He was Tobie's best friend. He was a beautiful 25 pound big boy cat and today when he passed he was under 5 pounds. He and I worked together to keep him here as long as we could. He was too weak and his time on this earth was over. I wrapped him in a towel and held him and his big spirit just left his little body. He will be missed.
