On July 20, 1921 he was united in marriage to Lillie Thoms at Cherokee, Iowa. They became the parents of 3 children.
Preceding him in death were his parents and 1 son. Dale, who died during World War II.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, 1 son, Ivan of Spencer and 1 daughter, Phyllis (Mrs. Tom Powers) of Hartley, 2 grandchildren, Stacey and Darcy Powers, 1 brother, Henry of Calumet; 2 sisters, Mrs. Dora Thoms of Paullina and Mrs. Herman Eilks of Cherokee, nieces and nephew, other relatives and many friends.
