OBIT: Funeral services for Dora E. Adams, 78, 320 N. Mill St., were held at 10 a.m. Fri., Aug. 2 at the Fairmount Friends Church. The Rev. Eddie Cline and the Rev. Brian Warner officiated. d. July 29, 1974 – b. Aug. 11, 1895, Fairmount Township – aged, 78 years, female – widowed – husband's name, Emory, d. '43 – father's name, Lin Wilson – mother's maiden name, Effie Davis – Burial was in Park Cemetery. Mrs. Adams suffered massive head injuries in a 4:16 p.m. traffic accident at the intersection of Main and Washington streets in Fairmount on Mon., July 29. She was rushed by ambulance to Marion General Hospital where she was listed in very critical condition until she died at 9:30 p.m. that night. Mrs. Adams was crossing Wash. St. in the crosswalk, police said, when she was struck by a pick-up truck owned by Occidental Chemicals Mrs. Adams was a native of Fairmount township and had resided here most of her life. She and her late husband operated the Dutch Mill Creamery near Fairmount for many years. She was a graduate of Fairmount Academy and was a former teacher there. She was a member of the Back Creek Friends Church, the WCTU, the United Soc. of Friends Women and the Friendship Club of Fairmount. Survivors include three sons, Milford, Fairmount; Jay, Columbus, Ohio; and Robert, Columbia City; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Hunt-Nolder Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
