Ludvig was the son of Ole Nilsen Ysen and Marie Inger Larson.

He had eleven siblings: Clara Adelia, Syvert Nicholai, Minnie Ovidia, Theodor Bernhard, Carl Anton, Thea Louise, Ole Martin, Selmer Nichlai, Adolph Christian, Harold Cornelius, and one unknown baby.

Ludvig married Bertha Marie Hanson on May 13, 1921.

They were the parents of nine children: Marshall Henry, Francis Harold, Doris Mae, Robert Lawrence, Donald Roy, Betty Marie, Bud Martin, Elmer Gerald, and a baby girl.

Ludvig Ysen, 81, died June 26, at the North Valley Hospital, Whitefish, Montana.
He was born May 13, 1898 in Bagley and lived in Bagley most of his life, moving to Kallispel and Whitefish, Montana three years ago. He was married to Birdie Hanson May 21, 1921 at Shevlin. She died in 1975.
Survivors include four sons, Marshall, Klemeth Falls, Oregon; Donald, Grand Forks; Elmer, Minneapolis, Frank, Hibbing; two daughters, Betty, Mrs. Irvin Pierson of Kallispel, Montana, and Doris, Mrs. George Schliauter, of Wright, Minnesota; 19 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Thea Anderson, Bagley and Clara Halvorson, Bagley; two brothers, Selmer and Ole, both of Bagley.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at the Cease Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Garry Breischaker officiating. Burial will be in the Gran Cemetery, rural Bagley, under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home.Born in Popple, Clearwater Co., MN.
