Had the bomb plot against Adolf Hitler succeeded, Ludwig Beck would have become the leader (Regent) of Germany. Executed under the orders of Generaloberst Friedrich Fromm and buried here with full military honors. The body was exhumed the next day by the SS. The SS removed his decorations and cremated the body.
