Roy L. Acker, 53 S. Wyoming St., died at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Carbon County Home, Weatherly, R.D. 2. A retired employe of King's Cleaners, this city, he was the son of the late Charles and Matilda (Shoemaker) Acker. He resided in this city most of his life. The deceased was a member of St. Gabriel's R.C. Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Holy Name Society of the parish.
He is survived by his wife, the former Vern Dougherty, two sons, Alfred, Philadelphia and Robert, N.J., and a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Troiani, N.J. Also surviving are four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister Mrs. Gertrude Faust, Bethlehem.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Bachman and Rosenstock Funeral Home with a requiem mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Gabriel's R.C. Church. Interment will be in Calvary R.C. Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 o'clock this evening.
