BLOSSOM --January 16 --

"The burial of Mrs. Leatha Addison of Mabank took place here yesterday afternoon. The body was accompanied by relatives who made the trip overland. Mrs. Addison formerly lived near Blossom but went to Mabank several months ago to live with her daughter. Her death was due to influenza followed by pneumonia. She was born in 1855 and died January 14, and is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Taylor of Mabank, Mrs. Jim Bryant of Roxton and Mrs. J.R. Margraves of near Blossom."

According to Confederate Pension records, Margaret married Jack Addison on 5 January 1876 in Green County, Arkansas. Jack was recently widowed with five children ranging in age from 10 years to three months of age. Even though Margaret had no biological children of her own, she was a good and loving parent and grandparent to Jack's children. Margaret died only nine months after Jack's death. They had been married for fifty-one years.

Information on Margaret's background is scarce. Her maiden name and the name of her parents has not been discovered. The date of birth and birthplace was furnished by Margaret on her Confederate Pension Application.
