Opal Collene Allinson, local resident of Claremore, died Sunday, December 7, 2008, in Owasso, at the age of 90 years. She was born January 11, 1918, in Harwood, Missouri, to Claud Wesley and Maude Carrie (Zerbe) Miller. She was reared and educated in Missouri and graduated with the Harwood High School in Harwood. She spent most of her working life as a restaurant cook and manager at Denny's and Howard Johnson's Restaurants. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family and was always willing to help others. Loving family members include: one son and daughter-in-law Bill Allinson and his wife Marie, of Aberdeen, Washington; two daughters and sons-in-law; Arleta and her husband Joe Gilroy, of Collinsville; Barbara and her husband Jim Willingham, of Skiatook; 10 Grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Creel Miller.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Helmer Johnson officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6465 South Yale, suite 312, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
