Margaret Bledsoe granddaughter of Mr E G Smith residing near Cedarvale met a tragic death last Sunday.
Mr Smith and his brother in dismounting from a buggy discharged a 32-20 Winchester which was resting against the seat. The bullet passed through the back of the seat and entered the right cheek of the girl who was standing near the buggy and engaged in lively conversation with the men.
She never regained consciousness and died two hours later.
