Elizabeth, 4 cousin 4 times removed of Sandra Jayne Savage Ruyle.∼Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Louise Few Finch came from a line of noted Americans including William Few (U.S. Constitution signer from Georgia), James Few (first martyr of the American Revolution), and Ignatius Few (founder of Emory University). She resided in Atlanta for over 90 years, and carried the Few spirit until her death.
Betty Finch was a graduate of Old Girls High School and attended Oglethorpe University, where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary. She is the wife of the late Landrum Finch, whom she shared a life with for 56 years. She is survived by their four children: Lanny Finch (Valerie), Marilyn Finch Armstrong (Jack), James Few Finch (Valerie), and David Elton Finch (Lori), six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She has generously donated her body to Emory University. A memorial service will be held at St. James UMC on January 9, 2010 at 3 pm. with visitation beginning at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity.
