BOECKING

Henry Edward Boecking, Jr. was born on March 8, 1928 to H.E. Boecking Sr. and Margaret Pearl Boecking in Tampa, Florida and went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2005 at the age of 77. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He graduated from the original Putnam City High School and later the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. Upon graduation, he managed Boecking Construction and later acquired the Caterpillar dealership for western Oklahoma in 1962, known as Boecking Machinery. He was a Golden Glove Boxer and played minor league baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers Organization. He was an avid pilot, hunter, fisherman, and a true OU Sooners fan. Ed was Vice-President of the Touchdown Club at the University of Oklahoma and was on the board of directors for the First National Bank of Oklahoma City. He was also a deacon and trustee at the Westminster Presbyterian Church and a treasurer for the Oklahoma City Arts Council. He was a model of love and integrity for his family and was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Sally, to whom he was married for 31 years. He is survived by daughter Caroline Gist and her husband Fred, son and daughter Henry Edward Boecking III and Sharon, son Curt Boecking and his wife Susan, and son Steve Boecking and his wife Tami. Also surviving are daughters Wendi Foltz and her husband Danny and daughter Penny Harper and her husband David. He was loved and admired by his grandchildren Addie Gist, Cort Boecking and wife Lori, Michael Boecking and wife Cindy, Blake Boecking, Emily Boecking, Lori Boecking, Katherine Boecking, Claire Boecking, Reed Boecking, Marshall Foltz, Harbour Foltz, Baird Harper, Rachel Harper, Sally Harper, Marnie Harper, and Matt Harper. Memorial services are set for Thursday at 3 pm at All Souls Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to Putnam City Schools Foundation; Infant Crisis Services, or Coffee Creek Therapeutic Riding School.
