Bruce Lyle Denny, Jr. (Bruman), 20, made his journey on June 15, 2016. His Indian name “Walks With Water”, given to him by his grandfather, Richard Denny. His baby Indian Name was “Little Bear”, given to him when he was born by his great grandma, Bessie Denny.

Bruce was born on November 29, 1995 in Havre, Montana. He was born to Bruce and Wanda Denny, Sr. He spent most of his life in Lodgepole, Montana and attended Hays/Lodgepole schools. He graduated from Hays/Lodgepole high school in 2014. He attended Aniiaii-Nakoda College a short while and then decided to work instead at Island Mountain Development Group in Hays, Montana. He also enjoyed fire fighting. Bruce loved animals, especially his dog and son, “Gary” , ”Gare Bear”. In the various phases of Bruce’s life he made lasting friendships. He loved life!

Bruce was very outgoing, he loved basketball, hunting and fishing. He loved to fish and always looked forward to catching fish. He always enjoyed being outdoors, going fishing and hunting with his dad or his special hunting partners.

His favorite basketball player was Kobe Bryant and his favorite basketball teams was the Kansas City Jay Hawks. Bruce was always listening to Native music and enjoyed learning new songs. He would always be jamming out to powwow music when he was in the shower singing his heart out.

One thing Bruce enjoyed doing wherever he went was making people laugh. He loved joking and teasing them. His smile brightened up every room and he drew many people to him with his outgoing personality.

Survivors include his parents, Bruce and Wanda Denny, Sr., of Lodgepole, Montana; his brother, Sam Denny of Unknown; sister Anita (Derek) of Lodgepole, Montana; Shelby (Keenan) of Hays, Montana; Jenny (Jeremy) and Monique (Jess) all of Billings, Montana. Uncles: Darrell “Juggie” Denny, Robert Denny, Todd Denny, Lynn Cliff, Sr., Ricky Cliff and Terry Cliff, Sr. Aunts: Iris, Ona, Ann, June, Betty Jo Denny, Debbie and Cindy Cliff. Godparents: Lynn Cliff, Jr. and Cindy Cliff. All of his relatives and extended family: Denny, Little Sun, Stump, Standing Rock, Lodgepole, Windyboy, Small, Blackbird, Johnson, Shortman, Horn, Longknife, Weasel, Cliff, Wing, Has Eagle, Helgeson, Main, Messerly, Healy, Allen, Ironman, Longfox.

Bruce also leaves behind a large kinship of relatives and friends. His laughter, sense of humor, beautiful smile and energetic personality will be missed dearly.

Bruce was preceded in death by his sister Angel Denny and cousin Shawn Shambo. Maternal grandparents: Henry (Jody) and Vera Cliff; great-grandparents: Thomas and Olivia (Brisbo) Cliff. Paternal grandparents: Louie and Angela Denny

A viewing will take place at the Enemy Killer Gymnasium, in Lodgpole, Montana on June 17, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

Wake and rosary will be held on June 17, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on June 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will be at the Cliff family plot, in Lodgepole, Montana.

Funeral services are entrusted to Kirkwood Funeral Home of Malta, Montana.
