He married on September 9, 1944 in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas to Virginia Moore, daughter of Clyde and Salome (Ewing) Moore. They lived in Kansas City until retiring and moving to Hermitage, Missouri in 1982. He was involved in construction work all of his life and a member of Union Local No. 1290 in Kansas City. There were no children.
