INFANT DIES SUDDENLY
While Nestled in Mother's Arms Little One Passes Away.
WERE STARTING HOME
Arcola, Feb. 11. — Nestling close to its mother's bosom, wrapped in heavy blankets to protect it from cold, the baby of Mr. and Mrs. David Lynn of Arcola died Sunday from either suffocation or strangulation, while the parents were driving homeward.
The Lynn family had been in Arcola Sunday visiting Mrs. Lynn's mother. During the day the baby seemed to be in the best of health. As they started for their home, three miles northeast of town, they wrapped the child up to keep out the cold air. The baby was nursing when the mother looked at it just as they were passing the Harris place. When she next opened the coverings to look at it a few minutes afterward the child's face was turning black and it was gasping for breath. The horses were stopped and the parents started to carry the child to a nearby farm house, but the baby was dead before the home was reached. Death was due either to suffocation or strangulation.
