WILLIAMSFIELD - JoAnna M.Carlson, 76, of Williamsfield, died at 8:20 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2006 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church in Williamsfield. Rev. Randy Douglass will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, August 20 at the Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield. Burial will be in Center Prairie Cemetery in rural Williamsfield. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the Williamsfield Rescue Squad.
She was born on January 23, 1930 in Victoria, IL, the daughter of Clarence ‘Casey' and Beulah (Harpman) Fahnstrom. She married Claridon G. Carlson on December 9, 1951 in Victoria. He survives. Also surviving are 4 daughters, Sally (Joe) Cuevas & Linda Schoonover both of Williamsfield, Betty (Rod) Lentz of Bolivar, OH and Penny Carlson of Williamsfield, 7 grandchildren, Angie Powell, Shannon Cuevas, Shilo Schoonover, Lisa Schoonover, Meredith Lentz, William Lentz & Tyler Carlson and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother in infancy and 1 sister.
JoAnna was in the first graduating class of R.O.V.A. High School in 1949. She had been a clerk at the Victoria Grocery Store in her early years and had been a cook at Williamsfield School for 10 years.
