Leroy "Tex" Alexander, Sept. 16, 1924 - March 5, 2004

Tex, a 50-year Bellevue resident, passed away at Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, Washington on March 5, 2004.

He was the eldest son of Bertie and Arnold Alexander, born September 16, 1924 in Springfield, MO. Tex's migration to Bellevue went from Springfield, MO. to Ardmore, OK., to Hastings, NE.

From 1943 - 1946 he served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater during WWII.

In 1946, he married Doris Evans Alexander, his surviving spouse of 57 years and 11 months. Both continued the migration through IL and Mount Vernon, WA.

Tex was well known in the financial, brokerage, insurance and consulting business community in the Northwest, retiring from a successful career at Prudential in 1986.

His family and friends were the center of his life and he loved entertaining and barbecuing for them. He is going to be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Besides his wife, Doris, Tex is survived by his siblings: Vivian Lucille Bissell, of Renton, WA., Betty Bartels Grimes, Houston, TX., Donald Alexander, Bellevue, WA., and Barbara Ann Thompson of Everett, WA; His children are Richard and Terry Waud Alexander, of Kirkland, WA., Lonnie and Josephine Bonasso Alexander, of Fairmont, WV. Grandchildren are Sharla Alexander Winston of Arlington, WA., Shawn and Ryan Alexander of Bellevue, and Christopher, Elizabeth, Loni and Brian Alexander all of Fairmont, WV. And great-granddaughter, Stephanie Wildman, of Arlington, WA.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday March 10, at 2 p.m. at Kern's Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon, WA. Friends and relatives are invited to the Alexander home on Thursday, March 11 from 2 to 4 p.m., to celebrate Tex's life.

Remembrances should be sent to: Evergreen Hospice Center, 12822 124th Lane N.E. in Kirkland, WA. 98034.
