HORACE C. BEAN, 82, DIED FRIDAY

Horace C. Bean, 82 who had made his residence with a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Taylor, 2200 College Avenue, Quincy, died Friday morning in Jacksonville. Funeral services were conducted a 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon in Fish Hook Methodist church and burial was in Bowman cemetery. Mr. Bean, son of Horace and Sarah Payne Bean, was born April 10, 1864 in Brown County. He farmed in Brown County until 25 years ago when he retired. He was married in February 1886, to Mary Rosetta Bowman. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Taylor of Quincy, Mrs. Ruby Taylor of Mt. Sterling and Mrs. Bessie Mixer of Liberty; three sons, Fred of Mt. Sterling, Guy of Oneida and Elzea Bean of Abingdon; a sister, Mrs. Eda Tucker of Pittsfield, a half-sister, Mrs. Clara Haines of Springfield, 36 grandchildren and 31 great grand children. A daughter, Mrs. Effie Butler, and a son, Naaman Bean, preceded Mr. Bean in death.
