Mr. Burreson, 78, a longtime resident of Preston, died Monday (July 3, 2006) at his home.
Born July 11, 1927, in Breckenridge, Minn., he lived in the Preston area most of his life. He belonged to Local 49 of the AFL-CIO Union and worked as a heavy equipment operator. He worked on many roads in southeast Minnesota, as well as laying out streets in many housing developments in Rochester. He enjoyed big machines. In 1949, he married Betty Jean Dornink. The couple later divorced.
Survivors include two sons, Gary of Stacy, Minn., and Eric of Louisville, Ky.; three daughters, Sheila Arnold of Preston, Keeta Haugan of Harmony and Lisa Ford of Winona; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Friends may call from noon until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
