Funeral services for Mrs. Eula Fike, 76, were held in Houston, Texas, Tuesday morning at the Fogle West Funeral Home, under directions of H.S. Smith Funeral Home, with Byron Teagle and Lon Goodrum officiating. Burial was in Forrest Park cemetery there.
She was the mother of Denver Fike of this city.
Mrs. Fike was born in Walker County, Ala. on January 28, 1887, the daughter of N.C. and Susie Posey. In 1904, at Jasper, Ala., she was married to J.C. Fike, who died in 1939.
For the past twenty years, Mrs. Fike had made her home in Houston and she died at her home there on Sunday, September 8. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She leaves in addition to Mr. Fike, another son, J.C. Fike Jr. of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Eric Hunt and Mrs. Charles Waters, both of Houston; five sisters and two brothers; also seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fike and his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fike, were in Houston for the funeral, returning home early Wednesday morning.
