Mary Frances Powers, 82, Abington, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Reid Hospital in Richmond. (Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana.
Born Feb. 15, 1917, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of George and Sarah (Shoemake) Bishop. She lived in Greensburg most of her life. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the VFW.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Hicks, Abington, Shirley Vanderbur, Florida, Marietta Smith, Simpsonville, S.C.; one son, William Stuart, Greensburg; one sister, Verna Myers, Greensburg; one brother, Hubert Bishop, Pittsburg, Ky.; 14 grandchildrert; 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Doan & Mills Funeral Home in Richmond, with the Rev. Gilmer V. Smith officiating
Burial will be in Abington Cemetery. (Wayne County, Indiana) Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
